Your voice introduction is the hero of your profile on Mellow. That’s how people discover you — who you are, what are your interests and what you’re looking for. It’s a way to express yourself in a much deeper way than a few pictures could ever do. So, make it stand out. Here are our top tips to make sure your profile gets noticed by other people on Mellow:
- Make sure your intro is clearly audible and reduce background noise as much as possible. Record in a closed room if possible.
- Make sure you speak clearly, crisply and in a way that intrigues the listener.
- Talk about yourself, but go beyond the things already mentioned in your profile like your name, profession, etc. Talk about things you care for, your hobbies and interests, your passion, how you like to spend your time, etc.
- Make it funny and witty — everyone likes someone with a great sense of humour. Ever heard of “Hasi toh Phasi”?
- Talk about what you’re looking for in a potential romantic partner — what values, qualities and experiences you’d like to share together.
- If possible add light background music — it will make your intros very immersive. To do this you can play something in the background while recording your intro. Stay tuned, we’re bringing this feature on Mellow soon ;)
- Avoid giving out personal information like mobile numbers and/or instagram handles. Your intros are monitored and will be taken down and your profile will not be visible to others if you include this.
- Finally make sure you keep it short and sweet. An ideal intro should be around 100–120 words and last between 30–45 seconds. This keeps the listener interested, without making it too effort intensive.
Finally, we urge you to be real and be yourself. There are tons of other dating apps where you will find lots of fake people. We created Mellow with a vision to change this and build real connections with real people — we value quality over quantity. After all, we all only need that one right person.
So be yourself, have great conversations and talk your heart out. We believe that everyone is unique and should have a chance to express themselves without being judged, and your profile should not be reduced down to a few pictures rather you should get a chance to show who you truly are as a person.
